Imanol

Biography

Born in Rosario, Argentina, Imanol is a 25-year-old tattoo artist. Being a minor, he could not get tattooed, but when he accompanied his friends to get tattoos, he discovered his interest in the vibe of tattoo studios. At 17, he got his first tattoo and started to imagine himself as a tattoo artist.

When he came from college, he decided to put his psychology books aside. At that time, he started drawing and bought his first tattoo machine. Imanol started to tattoo in his room without anyone teaching him. He spent two years tattooing at his mother’s house until he had the opportunity to share a few months in Tercer Ojo, a private studio of some of his friends. Right there, Diego “Gusano” Moran, gave him an apprenticeship of 6 months before he moved to Europe. He remembers that one day after arriving in Barcelona at the age of 20, he went to Plaça Catalunya to draw a “Bowery” rose, to see if someone would like to get it tattooed, or to just spark a conversation.

Currently, Imanol has been tattooing for 7 years, 5 of them in Europe. His favorite motives are women’s faces, daggers, horseshoes, and flowers in the traditional American style. It is very important to him that his clients, and himself, feel comfortable with the tattoo and have a good time.
