Also known as Old School, we could consider this style as the first Western tattoo style. Born from the cultural contact between the western world and the old colonies. It was specially popularized thanks to the implementation of the electric tattoo gun at the beginnings of the 20th century. It has a strong symbolism related to sailors and the navy. It’s in the use of solid lines and basic colors that makes it a traditional tattoo.
